Biography
Dark Little Rooms is the songwriting vehicle of Scott Crowder. From 2001-2005 Crowder and band alternated between writing, recording and playing shows with such artists as Smog, Stellastarr*, Irving, French Kicks, Soft Complex, Alaska, Tulsa Drone, Edison Woods, Derek Webb & Denali. After the birth of his daughter in 2005 and a time of reflection away from band life, he began reviewing the forgotten demos and incomplete songs that had never been properly recorded or performed. After sharing some of these ideas with friends and former band mates, Crowder was compelled to bring these works to completion and in 2007 Foolish Beauty was released. Recording on just a Tascam 388, 8 track recorder, Crowder embraced limitation and prioritized the passion of the songs over production. What was captured is a collection of plaintive ballads, impromptu confessions and stories of loss & redemption.
